In-Person Services and Updates

What's new and exciting? Outdoor service! KidStep at 9 AM in May! Heritage every 1st Sunday!

What's Coming Up?

Services

We are excited to offer outdoor worship services at 9 AM under the tent in the back parking lot beginning April 18. This service will feel more casual and possibly remind you of those summer camp sing-a-longs. We are asking everyone to wear a mask until they are seated in their row. We are also excited to bring back coffee to the outdoor service only. The 10:30 AM services will continue to take place in the sanctuary.

Our 8 AM Heritage service, will meet on the first week of every month, starting May 2. This will continue as long as our 9 AM service is outdoors. Further updates will be given as decisions are made.

KidStep is planning to open 9 AM classes for 2-year-olds through grade 5 on May 2. Registration will still be required. At this point, we don’t know when the nursery will reopen.

Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect?

We are offering in-person services at 9 and 10:30 AM. Beginning April 18, the 9 AM services will take place under the tent in our back parking lot. The 10:30 AM services will meet in our sanctuary. The online and in-person services have the same worship set and teaching.

How will social distancing be maintained?

Six feet social distancing will be maintained. Every other row in the sanctuary is roped off to create an extra buffer between the people on the platform and those seated. Ushers will seat you as you arrive on alternating rows. Appropriate space will be maintained between different family units seated in the same row.

What safety measures should I expect?

For outdoor services masks will be required until you arrive at your seat. While you are seated during the service, or standing to sing, you may be unmasked, but we ask that you put masks back on when leaving the service.

For indoor services, masks are required for anyone ages 5 and over (and will be provided if you need one). Because we will be in an enclosed space for a significant length of time and deeply desire to worship by singing, we are requiring masks to be worn. There are hand sanitizer stations throughout the building. Communion will be served by using individually pre-packaged elements that you pick up as you enter the worship space. We are not be passing offering plates, nor serving coffee and refreshments until further notice. There are white wall-mounted offering boxes at the rear of the sanctuary as well as multiple online giving options. In addition, hugs, handshakes, and high-fives will not be a part of our greeting time. When a worship service concludes, we are asking people to move outdoors to greet and fellowship with one another.

How do I know if I should stay home?

While we greatly desire to worship together with each of you in person, your safety, and the safety of our entire Hershey Free family, is of paramount importance. We also wish to respect the desires of each individual and family in choosing whether to join us in person or continue to worship online. If you or someone you live with has had a fever, cough, traveled, or been asked to quarantine in the last 14 days, we appreciate your willingness to stay home and help protect others.
