For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again. (2 Corinthians 5:14-15)
Our vision is for every person at Hershey Free to serve not just within the walls of the church but to reach out to our community. God has positioned the people of Hershey Free Church to be involved in many different community organizations throughout our region. We want to enable you to be agents of change and encourage you and the organizations you support. We want to celebrate the involvement of our congregation as you serve in various organizations that seek the flourishing of our communities.
To that end, Hershey Free Church’s Local Impact Fund for Transformation (LIFT) awards grants to local, non-profit organizations where individuals or groups from Hershey Free actively serve. Grants will be awarded for $500 to these organizations if certain criteria are met and funds are still available.
LIFT Grant given to She’s Somebody’s Daughter on behalf of DeFord Davis
We have met women (and men) at our motel outreach who are dealing with many different life situations. It is incredibly rewarding to see the look on their faces when they realize that the microwavable meals, laundry pods, toiletries, etc., we offer at our table are free - the barriers come down and conversations begin. People at these motels can be close to homelessness. We try to help by providing She's Somebody's Daughter's phone number to link them with services they may need. You can see the look on their faces that having someone who genuinely cares about their situation provides some relief. Our prayers go with them!

I simply love kids and want to see them flourish, so I serve twice a week for 2 hours each day. I volunteer in two classrooms, helping the students work on reading and math skills. One week, I made a "memory" game using sight words that third graders should know by the end of the year. I made the game pretty tough, with rough, enough, and tough plus through and thought. Teaching the kids careful reading skills and watching them grow brings me such joy!
