Live/Love/Lead Groups

The invitation of Jesus is to become his disciple and follow his way of life. At Hershey Free Church, we define it this way: A disciple is someone who lives with Jesus, loves like Jesus, and leads others to do the same. One way we live out our value of living, loving, and leading is to encourage you to be intentional with your personal relationship with God. Because we value doing life together, we encourage you to participate in a Live/Love/Lead Group. These groups are designed so that you get to know a small group of people really well. As you learn about each other and do live together, you begin to see God at work in your own life as well each other.

Twice a year, we have a Starter Live/Love/Lead Event where you’ll have the opportunity to meet new people and try the small group experience. Our next Starter Group Event will be in the spring. Questions? Contact Deb Hinkel or Nik Schatz.

Do you have questions about Christianity? Wonder who Jesus is? Or what the purpose of life is? Have you wanted to go deeper and find out more about what it means to follow Jesus? Alpha is a series of sessions exploring the basics of the Christian faith in a relaxed, low-key environment. Each evening begins with dinner (at no cost), followed by a video and small group discussion to share thoughts on the topic. This could be a great opportunity for you or to invite a friend to come with you. The next session of Alpha will take place in the spring. If you have any questions about faith, Christianity, or just need someone to talk to, contact Dave Hyatt or phone 717-533-4848.

Sunday connect groups

We know that attending a new place can be intimidating, and it is our strong desire to help you form connections and relationships at Hershey Free. Our Sunday Adult Connect Groups are a great place to start. These groups are a great way to begin to get to know a smaller group of people and study God's Word together. They are based on life stages and average 20 to 50 people. The classes meet during the 9 and 10:30 AM services, so it is possible to attend a group and a worship service on Sunday morning.

At this point, masks are only required in the sanctuary during the 9 AM service, starting October 17. Masks remain optional for Sunday Connect Groups.

Women's Groups

Our Women's Ministries connect opportunities are designed to not only teach but also encourage and equip the women of our church to move out into their communities and make an impact for Christ. We want all women to know that they are a part of a community of believers. We want to walk with you, challenge you, and support you as God moves in your life and heart.

Women's Morning Connect meets on Tuesdays from 9:15 to 11:30 AM in the Auditorium beginning January 11. We are studying the church-wide study of Love This Book, Part 3. The suggested donation is $5. Please register. Contact Janice Craft or Melissa Tinsley with any questions.

Women's Evening Connect meets Tuesdays from 7 to 8:30 PM in the Core Cafe beginning January 11. We are studying the church-wide study of Love This Book, Part 3. The suggested donation is $5. Please register.  Contact Brenda Kephart with any questions.

Men's Groups

The purpose of Men’s Connect is to equip men to be Christ-centered leaders at home, work, church, and in their communities. We seek to provide ways for men to grow in their faith. We hope to encourage husbands, fathers, and sons as they walk their journey of faith.

Men's Evening Connect meets Wednesdays from 6:45 to 8:45 PM in room 10 during CORE Wednesday night gatherings. There will not be gatherings on December 22 and 29. We will be studying the book The Dad in the Mirror by Patrick Morley. The cost for the book is $6 and no registration is required. Contact Kent Bailey with any questions.

Please note that anyone over age 70 will need to have their doctor’s clearance to participate. Strength training is held every week on Mondays and Thursdays from 11 AM to 12 PM in room 302.

Senior Adult Bible Fellowship & Luncheon meets on the first Wednesday of each month from 10:45 AM to 12:45 PM in the Auditorium. This is an opportunity to fellowship around God's Word and through worship of familiar hymns, followed by lunch together. Please register by the Monday prior to the lunch by calling (717) 712-8936 to help us know how much food to prepare. No luncheon in January.
