Our mission is “Joining Children on their Spiritual Journey.” The purpose of KidStep is to intentionally focus on ways we can help children spend time with Jesus on their own and experience God’s love so that we can help children from birth through fifth grade take next steps of faith.
Small groups, bible teaching, and singing are all part of what happens on a Sunday morning in KidStep. We are excited to welcome your children to a safe and kid-appropriate environment. We have a check-in and check-out process for security purposes. Look for the check-in stations to receive name tags and ask any questions you may have.
Dates to Remember:
No KidStep on May 19.
No Elementary KidStep on May 26.
No Elementary KidStep on July 7.
Sunday Videos
Each week we post age-appropriate videos on our YouTube page. You can find the video for this week below.
Child Dedication
Child Dedication is an important part of the life of Hershey Free Church. We value our partnership with parents in joining their children on their spiritual journey. Our child dedication process consists of a required class for the parents held prior to the dedication ceremony. Please register for classes. Upcoming dedication Sundays are May 12 and June 16.
Volunteer Needs
We have a variety of volunteer opportunities in KidStep. To find out more information, answer questions, or test out any of these serving opportunities, please reach out to Jill Bennett, our volunteer coordinator. We would love for you to join the KidStep team!
Sunday Morning Nursery is looking for loving volunteers to serve our cutest and most important guests! Each week we have three classes for babies and toddlers up to 3 years of age, and we need your help to keep our nursery open. This ministry is so important as it offers parents an opportunity to attend our worship service or a connect group without distractions.
Midweek Help – KidStep always needs administrative help – flipping classrooms, cleaning toys, filing, and other random tasks. This volunteer need can suit your schedule during regular church office hours.
KidStep Parent Connect | Sundays | 9 AM | room 301
Each Sunday at 9 AM, parents of children who attend KidStep have the opportunity to connect for Bible study and fellowship. If you have not attended yet, or if it has been a while, we encourage you to come check it out! While your children are growing in their classes, you have a wonderful opportunity to spend time with other parents, growing together in discipling your littles.
KidStep Offering Opportunity: This quarter, our offering will be going to the University Divitia Gratiae in Moldova, specifically to help heat their classrooms and install solar panels. Starting in April, we will be giving to TVSeminary (Russia). TVSeminary works to translate Bible courses into another language for the online seminary. Let’s guide our children in the joy of giving to kingdom work!
Preparing for Adolescence | May 5 | 9 & 10:30 AM | Room 303
As a church, we want to equip and partner with parents. One of the ways we do that is by discussing and navigating upcoming changes students face as they enter Middle School and adolescence. We invite parents to room 303 at 9 AM or 10:30 AM for discussion with Deb Hinkel. Students will meet in their regular classroom.
KREW 2024: Save the date for June 10-14! Please sign up to volunteer or donate supplies for our really exciting week. Register for KREW beginning April 7!
KidStep Summer Social | July 15 | 7 to 8:30 PM
We anticipate having a lot of fun at our first KidStep Summer Social! Bring the whole family and join us July 15 for ice cream, outdoor games, and the opportunity to hang out with other KidStep families! This is an opportunity for KidStep families and new families from KREW to gather for fun and fellowship.
Since 1979, Hilltop Christian Nursery School, a ministry of the Hershey Free Church, has been welcoming children to learn, to have fun, and to grow in their knowledge of Jesus. We invite your family to join the Hilltop family as we work together to create a learning environment tailored to the age and developmental stages of our students. We believe a child is a total person, designed by God to be well-rounded and maturing in every dimension.
We believe that the experience of each child should be consistent with his or her individual stage of development and, therefore, learning should be achieved in a way that is comfortable and natural for him or her. This can be reinforced with Godly principles through daily experiences.
Hilltop Christian Nursery School serves children ages 3, 4, and 5. Children should reach the classroom age as of October 1st of the admission year.
